I feel myself to be a hunter-gatherer in the artistic sense. Often the hunt takes me to unfamiliar territory, which may feel a bit scary at first, but the creative hunger must be satisfied, the doubting ego thwarted. There are nutritious roots to be dug up and tasted and a fresh landscape to be explored. If I find myself in a dull or barren landscape, I find comfort in knowing I can always ask, find guidance and receive access to the vast storehouse of inspiration and knowledge that is available for all humanity to share.
This recent birthing of small collages, were a result of being in unfamiliar territory (England) where I had few supplies and very little space to play in. These creatures, are a strange, human/insect crossbreed, born of a flight into new and strange surroundings.
