Artist Statement

These photographs represent a synthesis of line, light form, and color: a reflection of experiences of places and peoples I have encountered through my life. The relationship of human form and aspects of nature are intertwined and are explored within the images.

The textural layering of different images is superimposed, not manipulated. It is the purity of nature’s form projected onto another pure form – the human figure The body makes a simple canvas. Women’s bodies create lines that are clean and simple, as are the lines in nature. The skin becomes a 3-dimensional field that you enter as well as a superficial garment that is worn.

The female form I have used as an archetype representing the creative force of life, which is symbolized as female; Mother Nature, Gaia, the goddess. The full lines and smooth curves of; the female body display the inherent eroticism of life itself.
