Kayla was born June 14, 1997 to a long line of artistic and creative people. She began
drawing within the first year of her life and managed to speak the words “paint” and
“draw” shortly after.
She is very serious, intense and free when she is creating, which I believe is
representative of her personality. Surrounded by love, serenity and laughter has allowed
her a wholistic sense of self which is expressed intuitively in her art.
Her craft room is brimming full of various kinds of paper, paints and brushes and when
she creates, she chooses the paper, the colors of paint and the brushes.
Her art supplies have to be packed in her daypack upon every outing, in case of sudden
inspiration, and we know we’ll soon hear “ draw mama.” “draw mama”.
She is in her zone when she paints or draws. It is truly a wonderment to watch. I as her
mother feel blessed and honored to be by her side, and I am forever changed by her
creative freedom.
She is Kayla, listen to her roar, watch her soar, join in her flight.
