Artist Statement

I began painting landscapes seven years ago, pulled by the need to temper my strict design practice with creative disorder. Drafting has always been a form of art for me, a very rigid style that must convey only a single message, precisely. Nature is the absolute opposite.

The simple geometric shapes that are randomly employed to build our world fascinates me. I like to view it close-up, taking in its colors and textures; then fading back to absorb the whole collage. Employing thick textures, many layers and bold colors, I strive to capture the chaotic energy and mystery of our world.

Places we've been , places we'd like to be. Golden memories of childhood, the harsh truth we're forced to learn. Sometimes brutal, still serene; frightening and calm. The beauty of how it was, what it is and how it could be. Postcards from my Dreams.

This could be recollections of my recent travels, sights I long to experience, and some I wish to forget. I'm reminded of my dreams, of emotions from powerful places I've been. Landscapes I'm seeking, images from the scrap-book of my memories. Postcards from my Dreams.
