| The
Millennium Art Gallery, in keeping with its mandate
to bring new and vital artworks to the community, has developed a touring art
exhibit for the Vancouver area. The aim is to benefit those who may not have
the opportunity to visit an actual art gallery, as well as to provide a vehicle
for potential revenue to various care facilities. This touring art exhibit operates
on a shared-cost arrangement, and is available for bookings by public and private
continuing-care facilities, institutions, organizations and coalitions
Animatic Art Happening Each “On Tour” exhibit incorporates visual art, improvisational live music, dance, poetry and spoken word into a “total” experience of human creativity and the transforming power of its expression. 20% Share of Sale Revenue to Facility: Our policy is that 20% of all income generated from the sale of original artwork during the “On Tour” exhibition will be donated to the Hosting Facility. Each exhibit incorporates up to 30 works of art, with a total retail value of up to $50,000.00 Millennium
Art Gallery "On Tour" Hits the Road!
The project is just one of many being developed and implemented out of Millennium Art Gallery, fulfilling its primary mandate of creating a sustainable "model" for creative communities around the world. The idea that the central pillar of a community's health is its fostering of creativity as a means to elevate and nurture the collective spirit, is one that becomes more and more crucial as suffering continues to escalate in many parts of the world. The artists involved in the George Pearson exhibit attended one or both of the afternoon receptions, talking one-on-one to the residents, and assisting them in examining the complete catalogue of each artist's works, available as reproductions and T-shirt transfers. On exhibit were paintings by Riyadh Hashim, R.L. Johnson, Jake Hokanson, Blake Drezet, Mila Kostic, Tim Sullivan, Enid Pertherick, Liliana Strelec, Christina Smith, and Rog erLee.
