Ethereal Photography of Mountains and Nature
Alexandre Deschaumes is a French photographer specializing in ethereal landscape and mountain photography.
In 2002, he began his photographic journey, driven by a desire for artistic expression beyond music.
Entirely self-taught, his guiding principle is to capture unique and evocative atmospheres.
This creative quest led to the development of his own photographic style — a dreamlike and poetic vision of nature.
Starting in 2008, he began offering photography workshops in the Alps, later expanding to Iceland and Patagonia.
In 2011, his artistic vision gained broader recognition through his encounter with filmmaker Mathieu Le Lay. After a year of filming, their documentary La Quête d’Inspiration (The Quest for Inspiration) was screened at numerous international film festivals, winning several awards and airing on Montagne TV, Ushuaïa TV, and Canal Off.
From 2012 onward, Alexandre Deschaumes has participated in many exhibitions in France and abroad. He also gives talks and lectures to share his dreamlike interpretation of the world (including at the Epson Pano Awards and Salon de la Photo in Paris).
In 2016, he published his first book, Voyage Éthéré, a collection of photographs taken in the mountains and forests of France, Iceland, and Patagonia. That same year, he was a finalist in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, in the Landscape category.
In 2023, he released a new book titled Contemplations — a photographic journey through Haute-Savoie, enriched with narratives by Daniel Grévoz and cartographic illustrations by Vicky Petrequin.
